About the President
MATTHEW HUREWITZ, CPA
Over the course of his career, Matthew A. Hurewitz has gathered more than 25 years of experience in Royalty and Participation Compliance Auditing. The audit and litigation forensic work in which he has been involved has uncovered more than $75 million in claims. Matthew’s specialties include litigation support and expert witness testimony. He has audited record companies through the US and around the world, including Japan, Hong Kong, Korea, France, Germany, Italy, UK, Australia, Canada and Mexico in industries as diverse as entertainment, technology, intellectual property, and more.
Since 2013, Matthew has been the President and company owner of Hurewitz And Company, and his prior professional experience includes six years at Hurewitz, Boschan & Co. LP, 14 years at Wolinsky, Becker & Hurewitz, LLP (originally Wolinsky & Co.), four years at Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman, a division of Coopers and Lybrand, and two years at Ernst & Young.
Matthew received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting at the University of Southern California in 1989 and was on the Board of Directors and Treasurer of the Association of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP). Matthew has also presented at UCLA, AIMP, Beverly Hills Bar Association (BHBA), USC/ BHBA Entertainment Law Panel, San Fernando Valley Bar Association, and other professional organizations. He was also a speaker on a nationally syndicated radio program. Currently, he is a member of the AIMP, AICPA, California Society of CPAs, BHBA, and LIMA.
